
Exploring the rich theme of modern beauty through the prisms of ageing, natural Afro hair, regional glamour, class and gender, Kathryn Ferguson will introduce her exclusive short films, made in association with Selfridges for The Beauty Project. To introduce the event, Jennifer McCarey will muse upon the question “Finding yourself in the midst of political turmoil and protest, what is the role of lipstick?”
Belfast born Kathryn Ferguson is a Film Director, Film Curator & Fashion Film Research Fellow, currently living and working in London. She has made many films for fashion designers, international brands and musicians including Chloé, Selfridges, Dev Hynes & Neneh Cherry, Nike and Lady Gaga.
Jennifer McCarey is an organiser for the public service union UNISON. She has married the art of protest with a love of dressing up and vintage clothes.
